Hywel Dda University Health Board is inviting people across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire to share their views on local community pharmacy services to update the Health Board’s Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment.

Pharmaceutical Needs Assessments enable NHS organisations to look at where pharmacies are located, the services they provide, how accessible they are, and whether any gaps or opportunities for improvement exist.

The health board is seeking views from the public, partner organisations and stakeholders before its assessment is updated later this year. The health board’s current Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment, published in 2021, is available here https://hduhb.nhs.wales/about-us/consultation-and-engagement/c-and-e-links/pharmaceutical-needs-assessment.

The survey closes on Monday 9 March 2026.

    Public Survey on Pharmacy Services in Hywel Dda University Health Board

    We are inviting you to tell us about community pharmacy services in your area.

    The information from this survey will be used to update the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA). This will look at where pharmacies (also known as ‘chemists’) are located and how far patients have to travel, what services pharmacies offer and if current services meet the needs of people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. This information will help us decide whether pharmacies are in the right areas, providing the services that people need and support us in making decisions for the future.

    Your views are important to us so please spare a few minutes to complete this survey. The survey is anonymous. Any information you do give will not be linked to you. We estimate that the survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

    The results from this survey will be published in a draft pharmaceutical needs assessment in Autumn 2026 which will be available on the Health Board’s website.

     This survey will close on the 9 March 2026 – questionnaires received after this date will not be included.
