People Speak Up

People Speak Up is an arts and health charity based in Llanelli. We create a preventative time and space for people to find their voice. We work through the medium of storytelling, visual arts, music, spoken word, poetry, mixed media and conversation.

This image is from our Virtual day centre Hybrid project where we visit older people at their home and engage in creative activities such as dancing, creative writing, storytelling.

This project gives carers a break and some time for themselves. The participants also have the choice of an online call, home visit and a session at our base! The Ffwrnes Fach, Arts Health and well-being hub in Llanelli - Referrals only.

Overall, last year we ran 816 sessions with a total attendance of 6235. We aim to continue to highlight the importance of the arts in social care and health settings.
